The cost of outdated rostering

Stop wasting hours on manual tracking and communication.

Spreadsheet rosters break

One wrong formula or deleted row ruins the whole week. Version control becomes a nightmare as you email "V4_Final" to everyone.

Group chat cover requests

Managing swaps in WhatsApp leads to double bookings and missed messages. You can't see who's actually available at a glance.

Staff don't know their shifts

Asking "When am I on?" every week creates friction. Without a mobile portal, your team is always one lost PDF away from being late.

How it works

Set up in minutes, not hours

A simple workflow designed for busy business owners.

1. Add your team

Add staff with roles in the directory — invite them by email for mobile access.

2. Build the week

Drag-and-drop shifts onto a visual grid. Add roles, times, and paid or unpaid breaks per shift.

3. Publish

Keep rosters as drafts until you're ready. Publish the week — staff only see published shifts.

4. See it on mobile

Published shifts appear on the staff Today and Shifts tabs — no screenshot required.

Common questions

Can staff see rosters before they are published?

No. You can work on draft versions as much as you like. Staff only see shifts after you publish the week or individual shifts.

How do swap requests work?

Staff request cover or propose a swap from mobile. Colleagues can accept, then managers approve or reject from the shift requests dashboard.

Does it connect to payroll software?

Published shifts feed clock-in and timesheets. After approval, hours and pay rates on staff profiles are used for pay run calculation and accountant export packs. SyncDex is not STP-ready and does not auto-sync to Xero or MYOB.

Can I manage multiple shops?

Yes. Each shop has its own roster and staff list. Switch location from the dashboard sidebar under one login.

Can I build rosters on my phone?

Yes. The manager mobile app lets you view, add, edit, and publish shifts on the go — calendar and list views with week navigation.

Is this suitable for a small team?

SyncDex is built for Australian retail and hospitality SMBs — cafés, bars, boutiques, and bakeries with a handful to a few dozen staff.
